U3A is a self-help organisation for people no longer in full-time employment, providing varied opportunities for shared learning and leisure activities in a friendly environment. We are a University of the Third Age group with membership drawn from North West Leicestershire, primarily from the Whitwick / Coalville area and other nearby towns and villages. Our general meetings are held on the 3rd Friday of the month at Broomleys Church Hall at 2.00 pm. You are most welcome to come along and find out more. Visitors are charged £1 which is refundable if you join us; see fees section below.

Fees
Annual membership has been held at £15, reduced to £11.50 if you are already a full member of another U3A. Subscriptions become due on April 1st 2012. Members joining from Sept 1st onward pay a reduced subscription of £10 for the current year. Remember that apart from the group activities, you also get a monthly update, 2 newsletters and 4 issues of U3A News plus 12 talks / events a year
You can attend two General Meetings and one "taster" interest group session without joining, so that you can find out more about us. Visitors pay £1 for each General Meeting and a £1 plus the normal charge for an interest group session, but this is refundable if you then join within 4 months of your first visit.
Group charges remain at 50p per session for most groups. There may be additional costs for specific events e.g. external visits, or where the group has particular expenses associated with its running. You may join as many or as few groups as you wish, but other than the one "taster session" you must be a member in order to avoid our breaching the conditions of our insurance.
