Whitwick & District U3A - Museum Visits
Exploring museums, starting in the local area. Join us for a sociable and interesting day out. Shared travel arrangements.
For 2017 visits will be on the 1st Friday of the month, mornings, generally but this will depend on museum opening times and days, and travel / weather conditions.
Fri Feb 9th We shall meet at Ashby Museum at 11am. The cost is £3 which includes coffee.
Fri Mar 2nd CANCELLED due to poor weather. We shall be visiting the Heritage Exhibition at Loughborough Library, Granby Street, to commemorate the first women able to vote. We shall meet at 11am and afterwards we can either go for lunch, shop or the energetic can climb the Carillon. Please let Ann D know whether you are able to join us.
Fri Apr 6th The plan is to visit the Abbey Pumping Station (as seen recently on TV). A tour is available at £5 though admission to the museum is free. Their website tells us that parking is available next door in the National Space Centre for £3 Please let Ann D know whether you are able to join us.
Fri May 4th The visit will be to the National Memorial Arboretum. The minibus will start from Stenson Road, Coalville at 9.30am and then pick up at Bainbridge Court, Ashby. It will return from Alrewas at 3.30 p.m
Fri Nov 2nd A booking was made with the Whitwick Historical. Society for this date. Please let Ann know if you would still like to go.
