Saunters - August - 2021

At the beginning of August four members of the group had a most enjoyable walk at Bradgate Park from the Newtown Linford car park to the Deer Barn for a coffee and a stroll back to the car park. We saw many deer, and good views of the ruins of Bradgate House.

SWANS - July's Walk - 2021

A quickly re-arranged walk due to road re-surfacing preventing access to Hough Mill. Bis took us on a short walk down Swannington Incline, giving us the interesting history of the Incline, on a very hot day. Lunch was as arranged at the Robin Hood pub.

Saunters - June 2021

At the beginning of June seven members of the group enjoyed a relaxing walk around Snibston Country Park and the fishing lakes in lovely sunshine. We were all impressed by the number and size of the fish that were in the lakes! The park was once the gardens of the Colliery Manager and includes an arboretum, with lovely trees, bushes and plants.
However, we did all feel that up to date information about the park, flora and fauna, would be helpful and promote more interest in the area. The information boards already there are, in the main, old and out of date. After the walk we all met for a coffee and chat.

SWANS - June's Walk - 2021

Here we are again - where we left off pre-pandemic. You will see below that in February 2020 our last walk prior to the lockdowns was from Donisthorpe. Here in June 2021 we are doing the same walk, but in the opposite direction. It is also led by David and Helena and we also ate at the Halfway House. Let's pretend the lockdowns never happened!! Here's a couple of pictures - 19 SWANS at Moira Furnace and 18 along the Ashby Canal (one was taking the picture).

Strollers - May's Walk - 2021
